Travel Blog: Trip to Kokrajhar

Hello friends, welcome to another of my travel blog  and it is to Kokrajhar  city of the Kokrakhar district which is an administrative district in Bodoland Territorial  Region of Assam. It is for the most part inhabited by the Bodo tribe. The district has its headquarters at Kokrajhar Town and occupies an area of  3,169.22 km2.

It has two sub-divisions namely ParbatJhora and Gossaigaon and five revenue circles namely Kokrajhar, Dotma, Bhaoraguri, Gossaigaon and Bagribari .

Kokrajhar was a part of the undivided Goalpara district. In 1957, under the administration of Bimla Prasad Chaliha as the Chief Minister of Assam, three sub-divisions were created one of which was Kokrajhar.   This sub-division was made into a district on 1st July 1983. On 29 September 1989 Bongaigaon district was made up of parts of Kokrajhar and Goalpara.

                        The Journey

It was 5.30 early in the morning when we started the journey as dad started the car and mom was in the front seat with dad and my younger brother was sleeping in the 2nd row with a pillow and blanket i also started feeling sleepy and took the pillow and blanket in the last row of the car and fell asleep . After 1 hour or so i woke up and told my mom to give me the phone to help dad with the navigating map in google maps as earlier at night i  told her that i will handle the map after i took a nap, so i slowly moved to the 2nd row seat where my brother was sleeping i went very slowly and slightly so my brother would not wake up, i saw in the map that we were in the city of Rangia and I saw that it was a fine city, so we then we moved on and I saw in the map that we were approaching a river that was originating from Bhutan called Pagladiya and it was also a tributary of the Bramhaputra river and located in the Nalbari district which we were just reaching after crossing the Pagladiya River and to avoid the town traffic of Nalbari the google maps showed us the route from NH 27 which goes from Assam to West Bengal then Bihar the comes Uttar  Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and all the way to Gujarat. Now continuing through our journey we went through a town called Barama and then we reached another river which was very tiny called Mora Pagladiya which means Dead Pagladiya then we crossed River Kaladiya and there was a city named school in hindi and the name is Pathsala and as the name was Pathsala then there was ofcourse many academies, school, colleges and universities there, then after some hours we went near a town called Barpeta road but did not enter the town as the road to Kokrajhar  was at the left and once we moved to the left we saw the majestic river Beki which was very large and originated from the Himalayan glaciers and it has also joined Bramhaputra then after we crossed Beki we then approached Sorbhog  town in the Barpeta district then we were going and going then we reached the Manas river which was coming from all the way from China and Bhutan, in Bhutan this river is known as Drangme Chhu  which was also the largest  of Bhutan's four major river systems and  did you know that two of this river valleys's wildlife sanctuary called the Manas Wildliffe Sanctuary  and Royal Manas National Park was declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site like the Kaziranga National park as it was having Protect Tiger reserve, an Elephant reserve and a biosphere reserve now get back to the story. Then after more driving of my father we reached a major city called Bongaigaon which is also served as the Gateway of the Northeast Frontier Railway zone with its New Bongaigaon Junction Railway Station the second-largest railway station in the whole Northeast and there what i saw the most was factories, industries and the a very large refinery and there was also a big petrochemical industry, The Indian Oil Corporation Limited also called IOCL and there some of the people i now lived there before in Bongaigaon. Then we were continuing and we went through Karigaon which was very close to Kokrajhar City and now finally it was end of the trip and we reached Zethai's' home and there was two sons of her one was the same age of me and his nickname was Jimon and the other one was little smaller than my younger brother pablu whose nickname was Emon and there was Aita which means grandma and Zethu, first we went through introductions because i have met them before but when i was very little, then i went through his drawing books and suprisingly we both have the same topic of drawing and it was anime drawings but he only drew drawing of Dragon Ball z and I would draw many animes but his drawings were very appropiate and nice means it looks exact like how we saw in tv. Then Zethai and Aita made yummy white pasta for breakfast and after i ate it i again went to his room and yet another surprise he was a genius in making robotic things first robotic thing that i saw was he made a self driving type car but we had to click the button and it would move from the battery of a motor and there was also this sensor in the car that when we put something in front of the car it would stop but it was not so accurate as it would sometimes stop and sometimes crash into the thing like my hand and after that i saw a chess board in the living room so i asked him does he play chess and he said yes and i also play it so we started the match he was doing good but he had lose to me by checkmate and after that we told our brothers to have a match as they both also knew how to play chess and when they started
